Amanda Chia (IGCSE English language, English literature)

Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, majoring in English Education

Teaching Experience: Amanda has more than 10 years of experience in teaching English IGCSE tuition to teenagers of various ages. She is good at teaching English phonics, helping students with clear pronunciation and enhancing their confidence in listening and speaking. In her English IGCSE tutor course, she will combine music and drama elements to make boring grammar and vocabulary learning become livelier and more interesting. For the IGCSE English exam, she will delve into the question types and teach practical skills. In the past, students under her guidance have significantly improved their IGCSE English scores. Teaching experience: Tom has three years of teaching experience online and offline. In the teaching of science courses as an IGCSE tutor, he gives full play to his own advantages, adopts all-English teaching, and creates an immersive learning environment. In the past academic year, Tom tutored 40 IGCSE science students. Before IGCSE tutoring, the students' average score in science was 60 points out of 100, which was average. After a year of IGCSE tutoring, the average score of the students in the IGCSE Science exam was raised to 75 points, a 25% improvement rate. Among them, 60% of the students who were in the middle grades successfully promoted to A grades (corresponding to about 80 to 100 points). Teaching experience: Although she is not rich in experience, Ella has achieved good results in IGCSE English teaching with her excellent language ability and patient and responsible attitude. In the most recent semester, she offered IGCSE tuition in Singapore for 20 English as Second Language students. In the English proficiency test conducted before the start of the course, the average score of the students was 55 points out of 100. Ella develops a personalized lesson plan based on each student's test results and parent feedback. In class, interactive teaching is adopted to stimulate students' interest through group discussion and scenario simulation. At the end of the semester, the average score of students increased to 70 points, an improvement rate of 27%. Among them, 5 students who had a poor foundation increased their scores by more than 20 points, successfully reached C grade or above, and also made significant progress in English communication and application ability.
